2015 Election: Jonathan Holds Meeting With PDP Inner Caucus Members


President Goodluck Jonathan held a closed-door meeting with the inner caucus members of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) last night.
The meeting, which held at the Banquet Hall of the Presidential Villa, Abuja, started at about 8.37pm.
Present at the inner caucus meeting were Vice President, Namadi Sambo; the President of the Senate, Sen. David Mark, Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, Emeka Ihedioha; Senate Leader, Victor Ndoma-Egba and Deputy Senate Leader, Abdul Ningi. 
Governors in attendance were govenors Gabriel Suswam (Benue), Emmanuel Uduaghan (Delta), Jonah Jang (Plateau), Godswill Akpabio (Akwa Ibom) and Theodore Orji (Abia).
Commenting on the meeting, Gov. Emmanuel Uduaghan of Delta told State House correspondents that the party’s election guidelines in 2015 dominated discussions at the meeting.
“Most of the discussions were centered on the 2015 elections; that is preparations of the party for the 2015 elections. But most of the decisions will be taken at the NEC meeting on Thursday.”
Governor Theodore Orji of Abia spoke in similar vein, saying that the PDP election guidelines would be tabled before the NEC meeting on Thursday.
Also in attendance at meeting were, PDP Chairman, Adamu Muazu; PDP Deputy National Chairman, Uche Secondus; former PDP Chairman, Ahmadu Ali; PDP Board of Trustee (BoT) Secretary, Walid Jibril; Special Adviser to the President on Political Affairs, Rufai Alkali; PDP National Women Leader, Kema Chikwe; Petroleum Minister, Diezani Alison-Madueke and Minister of Justice and Attorney General of the Federation, Mohammed Adoke.
The PDP BoT meeting is slated to hold tonight (Wednesday) at the same venue while the National Executive Committee (NEC) meeting of the party scheduled for Thursday will hold at the PDP National Headquarters in Abuja.
